Key observations:

Gold Fields presents a stakeholder engagement section which provides additional depth in connectivity. After initially identifying the key stakeholders, a matrix is introduced whereupon the identified stakeholders are overlaid with the strategic elements of the business. For each group, the stakeholder risk/opportunity is identified along with the related key measures. The performance for this measure is then outlined for the past two years, followed by the plans for 2013. Within these plans, clear links to other areas of the Report are provided to allow the reader to navigate through the rest of the Report. The final and perhaps most unique feature of the matrix is the link to remuneration. For each strategic requirement, the percentage of executive pay which is reliant on the strategic elements is included to provide a clear line of sight between company strategy, stakeholders, performance and executive rewards.
