Risks and opportunities

  • The capitals
  • Value creation
  • Connectivity of information

Key observations:

The discussion of CCR's business model is one of the strongest examples of the <IR> principle of Connectivity in the report.  The diagram attempts to tie together the company's business objectives, the key stakeholders, and the six capitals used to create value.  The use of color-coding and icons highlights each stream of capital.  This visual aid also addresses the <IR> concept of externalities by identifying various stakeholder groups that are impacted by the creation/destruction of value as a result of CCR's operations.  The presentation of the 'capitals' on page 52 identifies the relevant assets associated with each of the six <IR> capitals and explains the activities/processes that are undertaken to increase these capital stocks.
