At the beginning of the 2013 Report, DBS provides an accessible and informative four page section dedicated to explaining how the company creates value. Within just the first few pages of the Report the reader is left with in-depth knowledge of DBS and a clear sense of the ways in which the bank delivers value, beyond pure financial value.

The section works as a road map, enlightening the reader on what DBS does, why DBS does what it does, where the business operates, how DBS performs its business and finally, how the business measures progress made against the company’s strategy. In addition, DBS provides an insight into what it is internally which drives the company, covering the role competent leadership, effective risk management and the company’s values play, to tell a holistic story of DBS’s business.
