- Strategic focus and future orientation
Key observations:
JLL has identified and presented its five strategic priorities which have been put into place to facilitate the creation of value for the company's clients, shareholders, and employees. Together these strategic priorities are referred to as "G5". Each strategic priority is described and accompanied by metrics that are used to evaluate performance in that area. In addition to these strategic priorities, JLL also highlights its Strategy 2020 Project which is focused on the identification of specific business and operational strategies that will drive success over the longer term. This discussion of strategy makes reference to the JLL business model and the risk mitigation benefits derived from its diverse geographical presence, asset classes served, and complementary service lines.
In conjunction with its Strategy 2020 Project, JLL analyzed a number of global megatrends with the potential to have a material impact on its business and long-term viability. These Global Trends (see table on page 14) represent potential future challenges and opportunities for JLL, and as such, they are being actively managed by the company. Each Global Trend is presented alongside the affected capital (i.e. financial, human, intellectual, etc.), and the "JLL Activities" which address these trends refer to additional detail that can be found elsewhere in the Annual Report and/or on the JLL website.
